The result was a military review and encampment in June 1730, which took place near Zeithain. The "Zeithain Pleasure Camp" was an organizational and logistical masterpiece. Above all, it was the most gigantic Baroque festival of its time, the "spectacle of the century." In front of 48 invited European princes and their military personnel, August presented his army in a maneuver. A five-hour fireworks display bathed the river and the city of Riesa in colorful colors. The exhibition also features the cuirass of Elector John George III of Saxony (father of Augustus the Strong), which he wore in the "Battle of Vienna 1683." What's special about this piece is that you can still see exactly where the Elector was hit by a bullet. He was shot from his horse but survived.
