La ruta de Guajira que nadie muestra. 🪗 ¿Francisco el Hombre venció al 👹Diablo?🌵 [EP 122] #colombia
Welcome to a new chapter of our journey through the Colombian Caribbean 🇨🇴. Today we explore the heart of Lower Guajira on a route that's pure emotion, legend, and landscapes that will stay with you forever. 🚗💨 Our adventure begins in La Junta, the blessed corner of the world where the legendary Diomedes Díaz, known as the Cacique of La Junta, grew up. Walking its streets is to understand the roots of that popular poetry that resonated throughout Colombia. It's a place where time seems to stand still, telling us stories of love, of the countryside, and of that Guajira identity that runs in our blood. 👑🌾 From there, we continue on to San Juan del Cesar, a town synonymous with poets and songwriters. It's fascinating to see how this land has given birth to so many lyrics that are now anthems of vallenato music. We continued on to Villanueva, the cradle of the greatest accordion dynasties, where the air seems to vibrate with the notes of the festivals that have shaped the history of the genre. 🎹✨ The road then took us to Urumita. A tiny town on the map, but a veritable volcano of talent. Along this stretch of the route, the roads are in excellent condition, although, let's be honest, they are narrow and can get quite congested in places. We had to be extra careful due to the recklessness and speed at which some drivers operate. At La Parcerita, we know that the important thing is to enjoy the journey and arrive safely! ⚠️ In Urumita, we delved into the history of the most famous piqueria (improvised singing duel) in the world: La Gota Fría. The eternal rivalry between Emiliano Zuleta and Lorenzo Morales was born in these streets. But Urumita is also home to renowned composers like Fabián Corrales, creator of hits such as "Qui' Ubo Linda" and "Acompáñame," with over 200 songs recorded by greats like Diomedes Díaz and the Zuleta Brothers. It's the land of dynasties like the Ramos and Molina families, and the birthplace of Silvestre Dangond, whose music leapt from here to Madison Square Garden. 🎼🎶 We arrived in Fonseca as night fell, tired but happy to have fulfilled our dream of traveling. Traveling is about leaving the door of curiosity open, and Fonseca welcomed us with the respect its name commands. This is the legendary Land of Singers. If in other towns we feel the power of the accordion, in Fonseca we feel the weight of words. It's an oasis of inspiration where the maestro Carlos Huertas immortalized that feeling of "returning" at the Festival del Retorno (Festival of Return). ❤️🌙 We continue on to Barrancas, a land of astonishing contrasts. Here, the richness of El Cerrejón, one of the world's largest open-pit coal mines, coexists with the town's impeccable urban infrastructure. But its true gem is Leandro Díaz, the blind poet of vallenato. Leandro taught us that beauty isn't seen, it's felt; that "God didn't give him eyes on his face because He was taking too long giving him the eyes of his soul." A legacy of resilience that illuminated an entire country in a land of pure color. 🕯️👁️ Finally, the route leads us to Riohacha, the capital city that marks the beginning of the most powerful legend of all: Francisco el Hombre. In Galán, we learned the story of Francisco Moscote, the peasant who defeated the devil in an accordion duel, inspiring the magical realism of Gabriel García Márquez. Francisco wasn't a politician or a general; he was a minstrel who united an entire region. 🪗😈 This is the end of our Vallenato route, an encounter with the myth that begins right where the road ends and the desert begins. You can't imagine how much we enjoyed these three episodes. Now, we're preparing for an epic adventure to the Upper Guajira with our group, where the roads disappear, giving way to dunes and an endless horizon. What's coming next Sunday is simply spectacular. 🌵🏜️ Thank you so much for joining us. If you like what we do, subscribe, share, and leave us a comment. That's what fuels us! ⛽⛽ See you in the desert! 🌊☀️ Bye, bye. 👋👋
