Two hundred years ago, beginning in 1825, Fort Vancouver was established as the headquarters of a vast British trading center in the heart of Oregon Country. Over 30 tribes and hundreds of employees from all over the world gathered at the remote international hub. It still exists today as the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
