I Deep Fried a Hedge... and it was Delicious! (Elderflower Fritters) | UK Spring Foraging

It's my first spring in our new garden, and I'm heading out for a late-spring foraging trip to explore the hedgerows and gather some wild edibles, especially elderflower. I'm trying something new today: sweet elderflower fritters, a simple food that I hope will be a beautiful old-fashioned seasonal treat. This adventure is part of our journey towards simple living and homesteading. Some of these elderflowers are being saved for an upcoming ginger bug soda experiment, but today I’m trying something completely new to me: sweet elderflower fritters. Think light tempura-style batter, crispy flowers, a dusting of sugar, and a very honest taste test from G. Will they be a beautiful old-fashioned seasonal treat, or have I just deep-fried a hedge?
