Ryoma Koiwai Profile ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1975 Growing up in Ueda, Shinshu, he moved to Tokyo for university. He then moved to Germany. During his three years in Germany, he rediscovered the beauty of Japanese culture and became a Ueda Tsumugi craftsman, his family's business. In 2016, he was certified as a Traditional Craftsman. He has been updating his blog (Ameblo) daily since 2011, and he regularly updates his social media accounts, so please feel free to check them out as well. The Ueda Tsumugi kimonos, obi sashes, and accessories made in his workshop are also sold directly by the weaver. Accessories are available for purchase in his online store, so please check it out.
