The Wiltshire Gothic - a short film about Deadlight Dance

On Tuesday 28 November 2023, Deadlight Dance - a Wiltshire, UK-based '80s alternative/goth duo - recorded an acoustic covers album at All Saints church in Alton Priors. Armed with mandolins, mandocellos, guitar and bass, they performed a selection of their favourite songs - tracks by Bauhaus, The Cult, The Cure, Fields Of The Nephilim, Joy Division, The Mission, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, The Sisters Of Mercy and The Weeknd - all captured for posterity by Nick Beere of Wiltshire's Mooncalf Studio. This short film tells the story of that church session, as well as the duo themselves - from their discovery of alternative music as teenagers in the '80s, and the resulting band, to the making of Deadlight's Dance's 2023 debut album, ...Beyond Reverence. The recordings from All Saints church were released on 29 March 2024 as a 14-track album titled The Wiltshire Gothic, which you can stream, download or own on a limited edition CD.
