SunSun canister filter noise WATCH BEFORE YOU BUY a 304A This is the 4th impeller that I had to install in this filter in 5 years, after just buying two new impellers and comparing them both to the old worn out impeller I've come to the conclusion that Sun Sun is molding them faulty, as you can clearly see in my video the new impeller has almost as much play on the shaft as the old worn out impeller does, this is unacceptable and Sun Sun should re tool their machines and correct the plastic mold part of the impeller assembly, I show the new impeller as I'm sticking the ceramic shaft about a 1/2 inch into the top of the impeller and you can clearly see there is way too much play for a brand new impeller as it is molded wrong but when I stick the ceramic shaft in the bottom of the impeller assembly you can see that it fits snug, another words the bottom fits tight and the top fits loose, it's definitely molded wrong, the only way I could quiet this filter was to remove the motor/impeller assembly and replace it with a new pump attached to the intake tube inside the aquarium, now it's dead quiet, I have Rena filters that are fifteen years old that are dead quiet, if anyone is looking for a quiet canister filter avoid the SunSun canister filter 304 A, boy is it noisy!
