While studying at Kunitachi College of Music, he passed the French government scholarship exam and went to France. Studied clarinet under Jacques Lancelot at the Rouen National Conservatoire.graduating with first prize in clarinet and chamber music. During this time, he also studied under Walter Boykens. After that, he won the 1st place out of 100 people in the soliste national qualification exam of the French Ministry of Culture. Participated in Mediterranean Music Cruises around Europe, Turkey and Israel as principal clarinetist of the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra.On this tour, he will perform chamber music concerts with the Cleveland String Quartet, M.Rostropovich, J.P Rampal and M. André. After that, he joined the French Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse as the principal player.he became the first Japanese to join a French orchestra with a woodwind instrument. During this time, he toured around the world and participated in many major Music Festivals in Europe. He has also made nearly 80 recordings for major labels such as EMI, CBS Sony and Deutsche Grammophon. He is also active as a member of the woodwind quintet and octet in chamber music As a soloist,he has performed withThe NewJapan Phil.Orchestra,TheTokyo Symph.Orchestra and the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse. After that, he was invited to Kunitachi College of Music. and returned to Japan after 26 years of living in France. After returning to Japan, he has been teaching young students, giving concerts, appearing on NHK Tv and Radio, recording,and he has been invited as a jury member to many International Competitions in Japan and Europe.and he has also been invited to perform at International Clarinet Festivals in Paris and Tokyo. he has released 5 CD by Fontec.
