RC Helicopter Nitro Engine Tuning Tips Featuring Bobby Watts & Matt Botos: TORCHS Cone Clinic #2

At the TORCHS Winter Bash this past weekend in Orlando, we held three "Cone Clinics" at the center stage flying area. Rather than doing orchestrated flying demonstrations, we chose to have improvised seminars highlighting various aspects of Radio Controlled Helicopter flying. These aspects include flybarless system tuning (Gain tuning, flip rate, etc), Nitro Engine Tuning, and Autorotations. This 15 minute clinic was held by myself and Matt Botos. Here we discuss our thoughts on nitro engine tuning, show how to tune the low, mid and high end needles, fuel percentage, and how to best orchestrate your flight to optimize your engine's power.
