I wanted to capture the contrast between the biting cold of a winter forest and the warmth of analog synthesis. A cinematic journey through a frozen landscape, reimagined with hardware synthesizers. This arrangement shifts the traditional "Little Drummer Boy" into a pulsing, analog atmosphere. 🎹 The Setup This track is a dialogue between four distinct synthesis styles, all sequenced and polished in Ableton Live: Behringer MS-1: Carries the lead melody. Its iconic, sharp analog oscillator gives the "Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum" a clear, haunting presence. Behringer 2-XM: Drives the rhythmic energy with a constant, evolving sequence. I used its dual SEM filters to create movement and texture within the loop. Behringer Model D: Provides the massive, foundational bass that grounds the entire track.
