Santiago Mejía Herrera belongs to that group of Antioquians who were able to overcome the adverse circumstances of their family and environment to become successful entrepreneurs, thanks to their creativity, assertiveness, and above all, their dedication to business. Santiago's first venture was selling meat. He later became a cattle rancher and ventured into the fuel transportation and distribution business through the company CUDECOM. This activity led him to the sale of automobiles, tires, and spare parts, an area in which he would achieve success and establish a well-known company: RECO. He also founded the copper and aluminum industry company INCOAL with his sons. The following is his personal and business story.
