“How to take an IUD out?” (What your doctor never told you about DIY, or in-clinic, IUD removal)

Something I hear from some patients is, “I am worried if I get an IUD that it won’t come out… I don’t like the idea of some thing being in my body that I can’t take out myself!” In this video, I bring you a controversial notion of DIY medicine. I believe that every woman and gender minority should feel fully in control and in authority of their own body. As a nurse practitioner, I recommend everyone who has access to a healthcare provider for IUD removal go to their local office to get that done. But if for some reason you’re not able to go to the clinic to get your IUD removed, rest assured that it is possible (though possibly difficult) to take out the IUD at home.  You probably can’t do it by yourself, have a partner help! I describe exactly how this can be done.
