1. Parts Inventory and Setup [00:00] Main Parts: Front and rear large-area guide wheel plates (old version recommended for front, new version for rear), spring stems, MS/MA/FMA related brake and anti-scratch parts, MS N/T03 kit, reinforcing horns, reinforced motor cover, etc. Tire Selection: Use 24mm small wheels. Without cutting the chassis, the small wheel diameter provides better acceleration performance and a lower center of gravity. Body Body: Use DCR 01 + 02 combination body body (lighter soft body bodies can also be used). 2. Body and Uncut Suspension Assembly [02:27] Suspension Travel Processing: When using the NT03 kit, the clips on both sides of the chassis need to be folded inwards or removed to prevent the kit from jamming when it sinks, thus creating suspension travel. Spring and Limit Setting: A 3mm aluminum tube needs to be placed under the spring and fixed with quick-drying adhesive to prevent spring displacement. The rear section can be fitted with soft shell scraps to facilitate smoother operation of the subsequent single anchor tail. Aluminum tubing (3mm rear pad, 1.5mm front pad) is used with 20mm countersunk screws for shock absorber limiting. Difference from cut shock absorbers: Non-cut shock absorbers operate with all four pillars simultaneously, resulting in a more intact body structure and less susceptibility to deformation or gear backlash due to landing pressure. However, the damping feel and rebound slip resistance are slightly inferior to cut chassis. 3. Front AT steering wheel and angle of attack setting [11:15] Basic base: Specific hole positions are selected for the large front panel, and the holes under the spring wing are enlarged to 3mm using a step drill. Angle of attack and anti-scratch combination: The spring wing, anti-scratch popsicle stick, and spring wing (rear wing recommended) are connected in series. A height difference is created using 3mm aluminum tubing and guide wheel spacers to establish a basic forward angle of attack for the front of the vehicle. Response and Sub-Angle Control: A silver hard spring is used in the middle with a rubber tube inserted inside. The top is secured with FMA parts, a copper bushing, and a lock nut to prevent swaying. Finally, a soft shell is used as a spring, pressed firmly to ensure the sub-angle does not shift and the AT operates smoothly. 4. Lifting and Centering System (Motor Cover Fixing) [20:36] Lifting Arm Fabrication: Take two reinforcing horns, press a copper bushing into the front section and tighten with screws for curing. Use a low-drying, fast-drying reinforcement. Create a countersunk hole on the upper layer for fixation. Motor Cover Fabrication: Add an angle washer to the motor cover, lock it with a lock nut, and apply a fast-drying agent to prevent the cover from moving left and right. Limiting and Adjustment: Place the lifting arm on the vehicle body. Use a tool to cut the rubber tube at a 45-degree angle and press it in as a lifting limiter. A 1.8mm drill bit can be used to slightly diagonally drill through the hole to make the linkage and response speed between the lifting cover and the AT head faster. 5. Rear AC Single Anchor Tail Assembly [25:12] Structural Setup: Using 25~30mm screws, lock the FRP tail fin rearward above the common wing, with a 3mm aluminum tube underneath for support, preventing the uncut chassis from getting stuck in the mechanism. Anti-snag Shift (Micro-snag Tail): Utilize anti-snag parts and 620 plastic guide wheels to secure the tail to the front chassis. This setup allows for left-right shifting of the tail, achieving a micro-snag tail effect. Single Anchor Damping: Insert the small O-ring (requires damping oil), T-shaped copper tube, anti-snag semi-circular guide wheel, silver spring, and copper bushing into the axle in sequence, finally locking it with a lock nut. The O-ring provides damping, preventing the tail from rebounding too quickly when swinging left and right. 6. Safety Finishing and Finishing [30:21] Screw Safety Handling: After assembly, all exposed or excessively long screw heads must be covered with tubing, fitted with washers and nuts, or trimmed with pliers to prevent hand injuries during track connection. #tamiya #tamiya #ms shock absorber #openclass
