Guide pour répondre au #NotAllMen

Hands off masculinity in a patriarchal society. This is what the reaction of some internet users in 2014 tells us. Following a mass shooting orchestrated by a man who had shared numerous misogynistic remarks, they refused to link masculinity to these violent femicides. On social media, this resistance took the form of a hashtag: #NotAllMen. The phrase suggests that sexist and sexual violence is only perpetrated by isolated individuals. But behind this concentrated dose of patriarchal rhetoric lies a denial that sometimes borders on the irrational. How (and should we) engage in a verbal battle with those who insist that “not all men, after all”? Why do we still prefer to tell ourselves that women are lying rather than acknowledging that rape is everywhere? How can we, collectively, confront the realities of sexist and sexual violence? Should we expect men to join the ranks of feminists? In this episode, Naomi Titti interviews Giulia Foïs, journalist and author of Not All Men, Even So (https://www.babelio.com/livres/Fois-P...) (Éditions la Meute, 2025), who shares her arguments with humor and precision, along with the keys to fostering the most constructive dialogue possible around this burning issue.
