Tarana Govt Degree College Doda Jammu and Kashmir

After a long struggle on political and social front, the Govt Degree College Doda was established in the year 1989. Since then it has catered to the educational need of this hilly district of J&K. In the year 2018 when I took over the charge of Convener Cultural and Debate Committee, the first step taken by me was to get the tarana of the college written and recorded. For such an auspicious assignment none other than the famous poet, scholar and teacher Dr Imtiaz Bin Din Mohammad Bhalessi (Assistant Professor Urdu) was entrusted with the responsibility of composing the tarana. After long deliberations with me and the members of Cultural and Debate Committee which included Dr Akhtar Hussain, Dr Tasir Sharief, Prof Mohd Ashraf, Prof Syed Kazim and Prof Falak, Dr Imtiaz came up with this composition. The historical details and the photographs have been arranged by me from various sources. The tarana has been sung and recorded by the famous artist of our area Mr Farooq Ahmed Khokar. This ambitious project was completed under the supervision and guidance of Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal GDC Doda.
