Col du Granon - Tour de France 1986 Stage 17
The final climb to the finish of stage 17 of the 1986 Tour de France. The only time the Tour has climbed the Granon, and until 2011 the highest stage finish ever. Eduardo Chozas is still alone in front with a big lead. Bernard Hinault wearing the yellow jersey for the final time in his career has been dropped on the previous climb of the Col d'Izoard. Greg Lemond and Urs Zimmermann (2nd & 3rd overall) have dropped the rest of their group on the descent. Commentators Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen are unaware of this and then incorrectly believe that Robert Millar is ahead of Lemond & Zimmermann...
