The concert itself is an assemblage of the life & legendary career Michael Franti has had & what probably should've been: an influential hybrid of gospel, soul, & alternative rock, a passionate, cultlike fanbase with an inclusive demographic, & a family style atmosphere throughout the show. So how come he was only able to perform in front of a glass half-full audience on this night, even with some free tickets distributed? If you researched the recent accusations against him, it provides a glimpse as to why that is; the wide contrast between who he is on stage versus off stage is too big to ignore. Personally, I believe Michael is a very talented, ambitious music artist who, well intentioned as he is, has craved too much of the trappings of the rockstar lifestyle (even at his old age) that has finally caught up to him after all these years, thus leading him to cancel his tour, lose his agency & lose all his major sponsors. Time may be his only ally if he is to continue his career & reinvent himself as a "reformed" individual.
