Finding authentic wholeness in new ways of working with Patrick Steyaert

In this Sooner Safer Happier (EMEA) meetup Patrick Steyaert talks about "Finding authentic wholeness in new ways of working" Those committed to finding authentic wholeness in new ways of organizing work must recognize the challenge. It’s not just about following practices or principles literally. True impact requires wisdom and interpretation. Consider how practices fit within the organization, how they interact with existing practices, and how people and teams interact. Patrick Steyaert is passionate about “going upstream”. In the early 90’s, he joined MediaGenix to use Smalltalk and object-oriented technology to develop complex software for broadcasters. During the years at MediaGenix, he gained quite some hands-on experience with agile ways of working. In 2012 he started Okaloa together with Arlette Vercammen. Since the inception of Okaloa, both Patrick and Arlette got immersed in the fascinating world of the functioning of the brain, especially in the context of learning. Patrick is also the author of the “Essential upstream Kanban guide”, the guide for organizations to look at the end-to-end flow from suspected to satisfied need. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and recipient of the 2015 Brickell Key award for outstanding contribution to the Kanban community.
