The very moment Heisenberg announced the uncertainty principle and completed a new framework for quantum mechanics! Schrödinger's theory, which posed this question, put the physics world on edge. Following two parts depicting the birth and conflict of quantum mechanics, the final third part delves into the question that all the debate ultimately focused on. Professor Kim Sang-wook describes this episode as addressing "the true core of quantum mechanics." Superposition, a core concept of quantum mechanics, emerged after countless physicists' deliberations. It directly contradicts our intuition that a single particle can exist in multiple states simultaneously. The double-slit experiment is the best example of superposition. This experiment, which produces completely different results when observing a particle than when not observing it, astonishes Defcon. "What kind of world are we living in?" The results of the experiment, which shocked even scientists, can be seen on TV. Even though superposition has been experimentally confirmed, another question remains: What is "observation" and how can it change the state of a quantum particle? To sharply point out this contradiction, Schrödinger proposed the thought experiment "Schrödinger's Cat."
