We came back to Blue Mesa chasing giant lake trout… but ended up catching brown trout everywhere. For part two of this trip, Cody and I moved to a completely different basin hoping to finally dial in the lakers. Instead, we spent two full days grinding through nonstop brown trout action, long days, and even a broken kayak propeller. By the final day we ditched the kayaks and hit the shore with a new plan, which finally led to the species we came to Blue Mesa looking for.
