Removable Tornavoz Experiment No. 01

I've really grown to love the gut trebles, no nails, tornavoz sound. I wanted to devise a way to experiment with the sound on my own guitar. There are better ways - but this one is cheap and easy. It was quite interesting to see the body resonance of the guitar drop from G# to F# when the tornavoz was installed. I was also able to feel how the guitar vibrated differently with it installed. Hearing the difference on a recording, however, is quite another thing. I think the difference is most obvious on the open 6th string...and as you go higher...it becomes less obvious. Anyways, let me know what you think. Guitar: SP/BR Telesforo Julve (smaller body, very light and lightly braced) - built between 1932-1944 Strings: Aquila Gut and Silk 800 - playing with fingertip technique (no nails) Pitch: A=415Hz Tests: Open strings and Two Tárrega Preludes Quick access links for comparisons: 0:00 Intro music (played with tornavoz installed) 0:17 A/B open string comparison 1:15 Tárrega Preludio Sobre Los Gruppetos (without tornavoz) 1:48 Tárrega Preludio En La Menor (without tornavoz) 2:41 Tárrega Preludio Sobre Los Gruppetos (with tornavoz) 3:14 Tárrega Preludio En La Menor (with tornavoz) I'm already working on experiment no. 2 which will be a deeper tornavoz with a wood collar.
