CataractCoach 1644: IOL calc case study 9: extensive radial keratotomy RK

This video features a patient with about 20 radial keratotomy (RK) cuts to each cornea. Now it is time for cataract surgery and you have to make sense of the data and perform IOL power calculations, which we should probably call IOL power estimations. While there is no exact way of doing the IOL calcs in these cases, I have a tremendous amount of experience with these cases and I give you all of my best pearls in this video. In my own clinic I often do cataract surgery for 2 to 4 radial keratotomy patients per week. Over the course of my 25 years of doing cataract surgery, that adds up to quite a large database.
