Rem Koolhaas (°1944) is a Dutch architect and urbanist and the co-founder of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). In 1995, his book S,M,L,XL summarized the work of OMA and established connections between contemporary society and architecture. Koolhaas is a professor at Harvard University where he conducts the “Project on the City”. For the Guggenheim museum in New York he made Countryside, The Future, an exhibition addressing urgent environmental, political, and socioeconomic issues.
