Op Amps: Linkwitz-Riley Active Crossover

The Linkwitz-Riley filter alignment helps to alleviate a major problem with crossover networks, namely, ensuring that the sum of the signals is the same as the original signal that was split apart. Ideally, the sum would have unity gain (i.e., 0 dB) across the spectrum with no phase shifts. While the Linkwitz-Riley does produce a phase shift, the amplitude portion is nearly flat. Here, we investigate a 4th order circuit appropriate for an active crossover. References: Operational Amplifiers and Linear Integrated Circuits: Theory and Application; Chapter 11.
