Starting this year, I've once again taken on the role of producer for our YouTube channel, KIDS DANCE CHANNEL. I'm 47 now, and I've been in this industry for a long time. So, I thought, why not just dance to popular songs? That's a little unsatisfying. I wanted to choose a song to dance to, with respect and support for the artists and performers I've met throughout my time in the entertainment industry. The song I chose this time is "Idol Power" by m!lk. My encounter with them was through "EBiDAN Amigo!". At the time, m!lk had just formed, and through Atsushi Tamura of London Boots, Shiozaki Daichi participated in our dance contest as part of a TV training project. I was in my 30s then. As a business owner, I was pretty edgy, and "Idols in a dance battle? Don't underestimate them." That was my attitude. However... "Huh? This kid's incredibly good!" Before I knew it, he'd made it to the finals. Actually, I was the one who was getting anxious, haha. He was eliminated in the end, and honestly, I was a little relieved. 💦 Looking back now, it was pretty lame. But what I remember even more is what happened afterward. I wasn't happy with his performance at the time, so I told the producer, and later, Taichi came all the way to the studio in Shin-Urayasu, apologizing with a serious expression on his face. Seeing that, I thought, "Ah, I want to support this kid." In fact, I think he was destined to become successful. Even before they became hugely famous, m!lk performed at our event purely out of obligation. Both the members and the agency are incredibly loyal. That's why I still want to support them. And then there's "Idol Power." I've been involved in countless idol projects, but the lyrics of this song really blew me away. This is an idol song, but I think it's a song for everyone: Those who aspire to be idols, Those who support them, Those who cheer them on I danced to it with respect.
