We traveled to Sierra Leone to record an interview with Waris Dirie, a former international model and current activist against Female Genital Mutilation. In this new video, a one-on-one conversation with Enrique Piñeyro and a journey through the life of a woman who, from a young age, had to learn to face hyenas in the desert, who one day found herself alone with a lion, who managed to escape her fate in Somalia, and who became a leading figure in the fight against Female Genital Mutilation. Some know her as "the flower of the desert." That's what her name means, and that's the title of her book. We know her as Waris, an incredible woman whose story is well worth listening to.
