JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Perry Warjiyo has resigned as Governor of Bank Indonesia. In the meantime, the position of central bank leader will be filled by Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti. Destry was appointed as Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia until a definitive BI Governor is appointed, proposed by President Prabowo and approved by the Indonesian House of Representatives. Destry's appointment as Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia was automatic in accordance with the provisions of the Bank Indonesia Law. Destry ensured that Bank Indonesia's operations would continue to run normally during the transition period. Perry's resignation letter was addressed to President Prabowo on Sunday (July 26, 2026). State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi did not specify Perry's reasons in his resignation letter.
