Chapter 17 : The Panama to Galapagos crossing
The crossing between Panama and the Galapagos is known to be a difficult one. A strong current against your route is very often a real hurdle - and indeed it was - and sometimes too much or not enough wind can make things even more difficult. We were lucky, despite the current, we had a very pleasant crossing 70% sailing - 30% motoring, with spectacular fishing and great fun when we reached the Equator. Also arriving at the Galapagos after 6,5 days was such an immediate reward with the warm welcome of the sea lions :-) Enjoy !
