Tekken 3 Online - TMYT (Paul+others) vs 134 (Eddy) part 1 [ft10]

Played on: 02.07.26 Part 2:    • Tekken 3 Online - TMYT (Paul+others) vs 13...   I tried rendering two parts into one file for 2 days, it didn't work. So I had to separate videos Faizan (Tekken Moradabad YT):    / @tekken_until_die   Music:    • Touhou Beats: A 2 Hour Alternative Hip-hop...   Strategy: You are witnessing arcade(Indian/Pakistani) meta: Paul who abuses his quick singular moves to create the perfect hedgehog. D1/WS4/4 create a defensive matrix that is borderline impossible to challenge. And whenever you get unwilling to move forward, you eat a dash into death fist/d4,2 unreactable 50/50 or something else. There are several times in the video where I wake up into eating f1+2 because I expected d4,2. Eddy also has obnoxious normals: uf4 and b3, which I often use together for good measure. You will see me fill half of my rounds just spamming these because I have no choice - as you will notice, all of Eddy's attacking attempts get cancelled out by Paul's d1. And that's not an exaggeration. I do f4 into handstance cancel into 2,4 and it works against his other characters, but Paul shuts it down with d1. You do ss3 into 4~3? D1. You do ss3 into doing nothing to bait a whiff? D1. You do ss4 into hand stance cancel int-.. D1. And those DO add up! Bit by bit, zoning poke by zoning poke, Paul syphons out your hp and out-trades you. Despite not having good juggles, he still makes trading hits work in his favor due to sheer frame pressure. So if pressing forward is a death sentence, why did I keep doing it and sometimes straight up feeding rounds? Easy - because what else am I to do? Let - this - sink - in: time works in his favor. He has unseeable hellsweep while Eddy has one of the most telegraphed hellsweeps in the game. So I have to trade my face for one reward - human factor. Yes, most of Eddy's moves are risky punishable 50/50s, but sooner or later, by overwhelming opponent's nervous system, you squeeze in some deadly attack patterns, like at 9:50, I do ss4 into handstance which he usually punishes with d1, but I managed to distract him from doing that by pressing other threats before (at the cost of my hp, since those also were punishable, Eddy is a fair character) So that's what this battle was! Consistency vs creativity! Notes: -Tekken Moradabad YT is a veteran of the game, who by his own admission is 'past his prime'. He has some tournament winnings in the arcade scene and I can tell you he is above average level of my opponents on this channel from this alone: his Xiaoyu punished rising 4 with db1. Most people don't even acknowledge that rising 4 is punishable (for some chars, launch punishable) -Connection was not too good. You will see me die to dash d4 spam when at low hp a lot, though I expect and try to react block half the time. This goes both ways as he dropped a bunch of death fists into f2 and such -29:06 is, I think, the key psychological round for me to have won. After match went downhill for me, I had to beat him at his own game one time instead of constantly backing away, chasing me through my zoning attempts became convenient for him by now. And through awkward trades and exchanges, I do take him by surprise with approach change and steal a round, reestablishing a need to be more careful and giving me more breathing space for the rest of the set -Not sure why df1, fc d3+4 juggles dropped against Ogre, perhaps I was slow in lag -It became evident my opponent mostly plays Ogre in Tag1 as he did f4 several times (a move that stuns against crouched in that game but is utterly useless in Tekken 3) :d -He also did ffn2, d4, fc df3,3 juggle which is only guaranteed in Tag1, but I ate it anyway because I'm bad -You will see me do a cool juggle for handstance d3+4 mid launcher. I learned it from this video on an Indian arcade player:    • Tekken 3 - Ogre vs eddy (Aaris and Priyank)   -Generally, my Eddy is underwelming. Most Eddys get comfortable only with a certain set of his tools and don't branch out into his whole arsenal. That makes no sense as all of his attacking moves are risky 50/50s, so it's better to overwhelm opponent with variety to increase your chances of success. However, in this connection, f1+2(instant handstance that also pushes you a bit forward) into 3~4 hellsweep / d3+4 mid launcher 50/50 was good enough to be the main source of damage. The video I referenced in previous note shows a cool tech of pressing down into 3+4 launcher to dodge something, particularly Ogre's f2 that tries to punish handstance cancels. Also, ss3 can be cancelled from a hit into just an instant relax stance right near opponent as a setup for 4~3/3~4 50/50, but I didn't go for such tricks in 200+ ping GG
