Lecture # Presentation Skills 1. Important for Examination 2. Important for Presentation in the Class Presentation Types of Presentation A. Formal Presentation B. Informal Presentation Formal Presentation: School, College, University, Organization etc. Informal Presentation: Market, Street, Fair (Mela) Elements of Presentation 1. Presenter 2. Topic/Subject 3. Audience 4. Language 5. Clarity 6. Level of the Audience 7. Environment of the Presentation 8. Refreshment and Entertainment 9. Question Answer Session 10. Inclusion of Audio Visuals Presenter: A person who present the topic/subject. Or A person who explains the topic/subject or Person who give information about the top Topic/Subject: The presenter must have a topic/subject for presentation so that he may explain that topic in front of the audience. Audience: The persons/people who listen to Presenter audience may be direct or indirect. · Direct Audience: Persons/people who are in front of the presenter in a hall or classroom. · Indirect Audience: Persons/people who are not in front of the present but get the presentation of the presenter through other means. Language: The presenter should speak the language which is understandable to the audience. Clarity: What the presenter explains must be clear; Clarity of Voice/Sound and Clarity of Language . A. Clarity of Voice/Sound: The voice of the speaker should be clear and loud enough that every may hear and understand B. Clarity of Language : The language should be easy and simple. Difficult words and Idiomatic expressions should be avoided. Level of the Audience: The presenter should examine the level of the audience whether t their level is low, average or high. Environment of the Presentation: The place where the presenter gives presentation on a topic/subject. Refreshment and Entertainment: If the presentation is lengthy, refreshment should be given to the audience. It can be food, drink or even joke. Question Answer Session: Presenter should ask question from audience and listen to their answers. Same is the case with audience, they should ask questions from the presenter and the presenter must clear their ambiguities. Inclusion of Audio Visuals: The presenter should use pictures and videos in his/her presentation. It help in easy and better understanding of the audience.
