After passing, Watanabe Productions gave singing lessons for several days. The actual recording took place in Tokyo, and we flew to Tokyo on a Japan Airlines plane (Jumbo) from Fukuoka Airport. The flight attendants welcomed us as Kyushu representatives, giving us bouquets and enthusiastic support. (I think the captain also introduced us on the in-flight announcement.) When the children from all over Japan arrived at Haneda, they got on a bus like a location bus, and the first place we went to was the Tokyo Grand Hotel. On the way there on the Shuto Expressway, we saw the monorail and Tokyo Tower in the distance, and we were very excited to be in the long-awaited Tokyo. At the hotel, we immediately had a costume fitting and were helped to change by kind ladies. The children from all over the country were having a great time. At night, they were relaxing, throwing pillows as if they were on a school trip, but the next morning was the day of the actual recording, and they were serious (heart pounding) as if they were nervous. All the actions that had led them to this point came to mind like a slideshow. Thinking back, I remember sending out my application postcard, heading to the preliminary venue, waiting for hours with my numbered ticket, and finally getting my turn to sing at 7pm. Then a week later I got a phone call informing me that I had passed, then the second preliminary round, singing lessons, and after such a long journey, the real thing was just a few hours away. I was so scared I felt like crying. I got on the minibus and headed to the venue, entered the dressing room from the back door, and prepared for rehearsal. In the dressing room, I could hear the sound of a big band playing live (amazing). I remember facing the stage to check the sound, and being surprised at the size of the audience from the stage, and at the same time, feeling a strange feeling of "I'm going to do it!". Also, the "Schoolmates" who I've only ever seen on TV were dancing. The actual performance was as you can see in the video.
