Manta Road is Pohnpei’s signature scuba dive site, renowned globally for its highly reliable resident population of reef manta rays. It is located within a Marine Protected Area (MPA) off the northern coast of Mwahnd Peidak island. It is a narrow lagoon channel running roughly 800 feet/250 meters between two parallel reef walls. with a bottom composed of mixed white sand and scattered coral mounds ranging from 10 to 30 feet deep.The coral mounds function as active cleaning and feeding hubs where mantas regularly hover mid-water. It has Highly tidal currents and capable of ripping up to 7 knots
