Kosovo's Flashpoint - A Story of Rebuilding in the Divided City of Mitrovica (Cultural Travel Guide)

The fortunes of Mitrovica in Northern Kosovo are inextricably linked to the enormous Trepca mine and to the Kosovo war. The city is in a process of rebuilding and reconciliation after finding itself divided following the conflict, with the majority of the city being ethnic Albanian but North Mitrovica retaining a large Serbian population and a different political administration. As well as a short tour of the city, this film takes you to the famous mine as well as the city museum, where curator Nora Prekazi presents a collection examining the post-war rebuilding and reflecting on the work still to be done.
