FROM THE GRANDSTAND SHOW ARCHIVES: 2016 This archival footage celebrates Grand Spectacular, the 2016 Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show. It is shared as part of the show’s creative history and is not promotional material for the current year’s production. As creative producer and composer of the 2016 Grandstand Show, I wanted Grand Spectacular to live up to its name. The production celebrated Northern Alberta’s roughnecks, featured a blazing 100-foot high wire, a flying piano performing my arrangement of Purple Rain, Alberta Ballet dancing through fire and water, trampoline artists, aerialists, motorcycles and a stage filled with extraordinary acts. Looking back, it remains one of the wildest pitches we ever brought to life.
