Fiido D2s Electric Bike 2000 km review, repairs and maintenance

**Now with Subtitles** I have had the Fiido D2s, folding, pedal-assist bicycle since May 2020 and have covered in excess of 2000 kilometres. This electric bike has a 250 watt rear hub motor. The electric motor provides assistance up to a limit of 25 kph. The bike can be ridden faster than this by use of the pedals. The bike has Shimano 6 speed gears for normal riding. The 7.8 Ah li-ion battery is claimed to have a 20 to 35 km range in pure electric mode and a range of 40 to 50 km in assist mode. My typical ride of about 20 to 30 km, in assist mode, on varied terrain, barely uses 1 bar on the battery level indicator. If I want a bit more exercise I often switch off the power assist and just pedal (the 6-speed gears help). The bike has been very reliable and has only needed basic maintenance such as brake adjustment, Derailleur gear adjustment, chain cleaning and oiling and cleaning. At 1600 km one of the folding pedals developed a 'click' and I found that there were play and roughness in the pedal's bearing. I replaced both pedals (cost less than GBP £8). At 2000 km I noticed excess play in the headset stem and found that the headset bearing required adjustment.
