As a student Frank Auerbach sold his paintings from a London pavement, his work now commands significant prices and hangs in the world major museums and private collections. He was born in 1931. Since the 1954 he worked in the same studio in Mornington Crescent every single day of the year except for Christmas Day right up until his death.
