The forgotten stadium Inter & AC Milan played in BEFORE the San Siro

Inter Milan and AC Milan share the iconic San Siro stadium, but that wasn’t always the case! In the heart of Milan, you can find the oldest stadium that the city has to offer: Arena Civica. A stadium that Napoleon Bonaparte himself commissioned, and was finished in the year 1807. It’s still standing to this day! About 100 years after it’s construction, it began to get an increased use for football matches, and at one point, was Inter Milan’s home stadium. Giuseppe Meazza and the Inter squad of the 1930s won many titles at Arena Civica, and the ancient stadium was held closely to both the club and supporters hearts, even after moving to the San Siro. Arena Civica is where Inter played prior to San Siro, so we will go over some of the history of Inter Milan, the history of Arena Civica, as well as early Italian football history in general!
