Irina Irshonok, a former student at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, is now a soloist with the renowned M. Ya. Finberg Orchestra and winner of numerous vocal competitions. She hails from the village of Voropaevo in the Postavy District. A teacher at the music school noticed her rare, folk-like voice. When Irina was just beginning to sing, her grandmother said, "Time will pass—we'll be watching our Ira on TV." Today, she's featured on Belarusian television channels and was also invited to perform on the Russian program "Songs from All the Soul." Irina views her gift for authentic singing as a gift from above. The M. Ya. Finberg National Academic Symphony and Pop Music Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus was searching for new voices. Irina successfully auditioned. Now, her distinctive singing style graces the orchestra's concerts. Irina Irshonok is a four-time recipient of a scholarship from the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented Youth.
