I wanted to explore Xiao's character journey from Self-Sacrificing Lone Yaksha to a yaksha that is slowly, slooooowly learning to let others in and share his burdens. 'Others' being mostly Traveler tbh. Hence their presence. Can't talk about Xiao without Traveler, so you definitely can't edit a video without Traveler. I felt that "loving you is a losing game" sums up the Other Yakshas-Xiao-Traveler relationship. It was a losing game for Xiao to love the other 4 yakshas bc a yaksha's fate is misery and ruin from karmic debt. It's difficult to love Xiao bc of his same karmic debt, the threat it poses to others, and his proclivity for self-sacrifice. Finally, loving Traveler is a risk bc Xiao can not and will not drag another person down from his karma. So there you have it! A whole angst ridden dilemma. Thankfully, it seems that, after the Chasm, Xiao is loosening up to the idea of people trying to get close to him again. So I ended the edit on a positive, hopeful note. (Right, Mihoyo? We're gonna let the boy have happiness, right?
