On July 13th, the "Villains Night ~Friday the 13th~" event for the V-Cinema film "Uchu Sentai Kyuranger VS Space Squad" (directed by Koichi Sakamoto) was held in Tokyo. Yuka Hirata, Mitsuru Karahashi, and Ayame Mizusaki, who played the villains of previous Super Sentai series who also appeared in the film, gathered together. Hirata, who played Mele in "Juken Sentai Gekiranger," recalled his time on the show, saying, "There was nothing but good things." He continued, "I got whiplash (during action scenes). If I got hit so many times in a row, I wouldn't be able to move my neck. But even if I did something cute or just obeyed traffic lights, people still looked on me with appreciation." Mizusaki quipped, "It was like a delinquent picking up trash," drawing laughter from the audience. Mizusaki, who played Escape in "Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters," recalled, "When I went to pick up my niece and nephew from kindergarten, the kids shouted, 'Oh, it's Escape!' and punched me really hard." Karahashi, who played Funawa Juzo in "Samurai Sentai Shinkenger," revealed that while he rarely got noticed, he would travel by train with a bamboo sword for practice. "People saw me then. Maybe they were looking at me legally." The three also talked about the child's reaction when he spotted them. Mizusaki recalled, "It was a group of three parents and children, and the child was the only one who noticed me and froze. He kept holding on to his mother's skirt." Hirata revealed, "(The child) said, 'Do your best, Mele-chan,' but what Mele-chan does best is defeat the hero. So when I told her, 'Do your best and you'll defeat the hero,' she froze up. Then I gave her a gentle hug..." Director Sakamoto also attended the event, and Super Sentai Goodwill Ambassador Hiroya Matsumoto served as MC. "Uchu Sentai Kyuranger VS Space Squad" is a collaboration between "Uchu Sentai Kyuranger," which aired from February 2017 to February 2018, and the superhero unit "Space Squad," formed with Space Sheriff Gavan as its captain.
