A Cobbler’s Life: Walking Miles to Earn Less Than $3 a Day
Sentu Das is a roadside cobbler who walks nearly 15 to 20 kilometers every day in search of customers. With no permanent home, fixed workplace, or steady income, he survives by repairing worn-out shoes and sandals across the streets of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Some days, he earns less than three dollars. Rain can stop his work, hunger follows him through the day, and even a single customer can make a meaningful difference. Yet despite exhaustion, uncertainty, and years of hardship, he continues the trade passed down by his father and grandfather. This documentary follows his life from morning until night—his roadside shelter, simple meals, long walks, difficult working conditions, and the dignity with which he continues to earn an honest living. Lifeora respectfully shares real human stories of work, hardship, dignity, and survival.
