Szymon Kaczmarek, along with his parents, runs a 10-hectare farm in Białobłoty, Greater Poland Voivodeship. The farm has three cows, and the milk is milked by hand and processed into cheese. The family also runs the "Chlebowy Zakątek" agritourism farm, but Szymon's greatest passion for years has been mechanics and machine design. As part of his master's thesis in mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering, he designed and built his own front loader with a telescopic boom for an Ursus C-355. "Building my own front loader has been on my mind since I was 15. I've always liked the designs Emplex used to make. My master's thesis was the perfect opportunity to pursue such a project," he says. The loader weighs approximately 500 kg. It's equipped with a telescope that extends one meter and an articulated arm, allowing it to reach a lifting height of approximately 5.5 meters. The structure was designed to lift one ton with the boom retracted and approximately 400 kg when fully extended. The project cost approximately 20,000-25,000 PLN, not including our own labor. "We carefully calculated everything. I wanted the structure to be strong, safe, and as functional as possible. Even the Euroframe lock can be operated without leaving the cab," he explains. The Ursus loader also received an additional hydraulic pump, an oil tank with a capacity of approximately 80 liters, and a number of proprietary solutions to improve work comfort. Further modifications are already planned, including a panoramic roof and a rebuilt front axle. Outside of the farm, Szymon works professionally in the metalworking industry. He admits that he spends most of his free time in the garage, where he develops new projects. One of these is a custom-built welding turntable. The farm operates two Ursus tractors – a C-355 and a C-330, which his grandfather bought many years ago. Corn is the main crop, although farming in Class VI soils is not easy. A few years ago, the family also renovated their grandparents' house and created the "Chlebowy Zakątek" agritourism farm. Guests have access to the entire property, which can accommodate up to 16 people, as well as a wood-burning hot tub, sauna, barbecue gazebo, and the surrounding forests, known for their abundance of mushrooms.
