The Australind's Final Run

On the 19th of November 2023, the old Australind Railcars (ADP/ADQ) ran for the final time, leaving Bunbury Terminal at 0800 and leaving Perth Station at 1240. The last 2 days of the Australind were all VIP services, of which only people related to the government, Transwa and RHWA were allowed to take. As ‪@wa_rails‬ ‪@user-three-four-nine‬ took a train to Welshpool, to see the Australind and to say a final goodbye to the station, we encountered the typical Armadale line drunk. When we got off at Welshpool, he followed us (very slowly) and when we went to film the Australind he dropped his wallet, aggravating him even more, escalating to the point where he stepped to us. We ran lol. The last video is a 1987 9News broadcast about the Launch of the Australind. The ADPs and ADQs will be replaced by new railcars as part of the Metronet program. These new Railcars will be ready by the end of the 18 month Armadale line shutdown. For now, the Australind will be run by coaches. Rest in piece ADPs and ADQs.
