Held on Friday, September 18, 2020, as part of the Judicial Reasoning Course. Speaker: Manuel Atienza, Philosopher of Law. Speaker Bio: Jurist and philosopher of law. Director of the Doxa Journal and the Doxa Observatory of Legal Argumentation for Latin America. Former Vice President of the World Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Sciences. He holds a Bachelor's and Doctorate in Law from the University of Oviedo, Spain. He has received honorary doctorates from several Latin American universities. Author of several legal works, including: Essay on the Analysis of Legal Reasoning, The Reasons for Law: Theories of Legal Argumentation, and The Meaning of Law. He has been a visiting professor at Harvard Law School and Cornell University. He participates as a professor in various doctoral, master's, and judicial training programs in both Spain and Latin America. He is Professor of Philosophy of Law at the University of Alicante.
