TOP 5 Extremely Rusty Antique Axe Restorations. In this video, I’ve put together a Top 5 selection of my best antique axe restorations. All of these axes were extremely rusty, and I personally found them using a metal detector. Most of the axes are military axes from the World War I period. I did not polish these axes to a mirror finish, because they bear original markings, and aggressive cleaning would destroy their historical character. Instead, I carefully restored them, brought the axes back to working condition, made new handles, removed the rust, and preserved the old metal. I hope you enjoyed these restorations.
