Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), Jan. 26 (EFE) - (Image: José Ángel González) It is the largest ceramic mural in the world, covering 2,124 square meters. It was created by nine workshops in Talavera de la Reina and will be used to decorate the Oran Convention Center (Algeria). The 55,544 tiles needed to complete this gigantic decorative project will be used there. Commissioned by the Spanish company OHL, the center's builder, it was created by Algerian artist Tewfik Boumehdi, who was inspired by floral motifs characteristic of North African decorative art.
