In this fitness video tutorial, we take you behind the scenes on a crossfit training style video and show you how to film high intensity, cinematic handheld fitness video with zero stabilization. This entire video was filmed with a RED Komodo 6k. Sure the cinema quality isn't relatable to filmmakers with entry level gear, however, this video shows that just because you have a gimbal and camera with in body image stabilization, means your fitness cinematics will turn out fire. Throughout this tutorial we show you our lighting techniques using two Aputure 300D II's, Cstands, modernstudio 4x4 diffusion grid and haze machine as well as our go-to handheld movements to make your camera that doesn't have in body image stabilization (IBIS) look natural and extremely upbeat and intense. The lighting used in this video was simple. We used x2 Aputure 300D II's with large Aputure light domes and Aputure honeycomb grids as well as a modernstudio 4x4 1/2 silent diffusion grid held up by a metal Cstand. We used Google Sheets to create an in-depth shot list and production itinerary.
