광주극장 예비문화유산 공모 본선 진출

Gwangju Theater, a single-screen theater with a 90-year tradition, has advanced to the finals of the preliminary cultural heritage competition held by the National Heritage Administration. The materials submitted by Gwangju Theater capture the history of modern and contemporary movie theaters, including carbon projectors used until the 1960s and hand-painted signboards by artist Park Tae-gyu, the last remaining signboard maker. The handwritten manuscript of Taebaek Mountains by author Cho Jung-rae, submitted by Boseong County, has also advanced to the preliminary cultural heritage finals. The final winners will be selected through on-site inspections and public voting among the nine finalists.
