DIY jeweler’s bench
I’m use to a European style bench, which has a cutout and an apron for catching tings. I’m making the cutout an ellipse, as a round cutout will take too much of the table space. The shape of the ellipse can be calculated (Khan academy has some good videos on that) or you can just experiment your way to a suitable design. The table is a used IKEA drawing table I found used for about 50 kr or about $8 us. The bench apron is from my old bench. It can be quit expensive, but you can make it yourself from a secondhand leather jacket. Then a little cold pressed linseed oil. Still a bit wobbly, but a furniture bracket attached to the beam will fix that.
