Lebendige Berge - Die Geologie Südtirols

South Tyrol, with its diverse landscapes and geological features, tells a rich story about Earth's history, from volcanic eruptions to coral formation and the creation, evolution, and destruction of mountains over millions of years. A journey through the geological history of this region is the subject of the recently released 50-minute documentary film in German, "Living Mountains - The Geology of South Tyrol." The main protagonist, besides the rocks themselves, is Benno Baumgarten, the curator of geology at the South Tyrol Museum of Nature in Bolzano. The film is a production of Wieser Media, in collaboration with the South Tyrol Museum of Nature, the Film and Media Office of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, and RAI South Tyrol.
